Life from Cacaosita Perspective

As I write this, I’m enjoying a Chilean Merlot, apparently harvested in 2022 (really? I always have my doubts…).
How are you, btw.?..
Today, wine takes the spotlight.i 😆 .. and do you know why? I’ve been craving red wine for, I think, about a month now.
I’ll tell you the truth—I don’t usually drink alcohol, and I don’t really feel it, except for certain moments. I don’t even keep kombucha in the house, haha! And normally, two glasses of wine and I’m tipsy. So, when this ‘thirst’ calls, I share it with friends to go out for dinner and a glass of wine, or I’ll say yes if it’s offered at a gathering.
It turns out that I had this longing all month long, but I was waiting for the right moment to share it with someone. However, for one reason or another, the timing never worked out—the days and events didn’t align. And I kept not having my wine.
I’m one of those people who can go out to eat, dance, or even go to the movies alone. It’s not a problem for me to enjoy a glass of wine in my own company, but that’s precisely what I was trying to hold off on… I wanted to wait to share it.
Today—Sunday—was the day we’d agreed to meet some friends for wine. Miraculously, it turned out to be a cloudy, rainy day (rain in November in Sayulita! Quite unusual…). It got a little chilly, the Sunday vibes set in, and we were all in the mood to stay in.
I don’t blame them; I felt the same way.
After a little ‘Sunday relaxing,’ I sat down at my computer, ready to write this week’s newsletter, and I thought, why not do it with a glass of wine?
Last week, I led a beautiful cacao circle, and as you know (if you’ve attended one of my circles), I always listen to what the cacao wants me to share with the group
This time, it was a long message, which I would translate as:
“That secret, that thing you know that lights up your soul, that you hide from others out of fear—that is the thread you can pull to get to your truth.”
POWERFUL.
And what does this have to do with me drinking wine alone?
Everything.
My “secret”—something I’m afraid to share with others—is that I really, truly enjoy my own company…
For a long time, I felt guilty about this, because I somehow associated it with being antisocial, not wanting to be around people, or being selfish???
And believe me, I have a deep love for human beings, and I strive every day to give meaning to my existence, to find ways to contribute to this world.
It took me a long time to understand that my greatest contribution starts with, first, filling my own cup—literally.
That is, first being content with myself. Everything else follows from there.
This journey has many stops and a few crossroads, but that’s where it’s at. What I want to share with you today is that sometimes, we impose rules on ourselves that harden us and take us away from our natural flow.
Choosing solitude or prioritizing your own well-being is not the same as being indifferent to those around you.
And… in reference to (1): some self-imposed rules and boundaries are healthy and necessary for our evolution. Others are not. It’s easy to tell the difference: when you impose them, they won’t make much sense to you, and they won’t flow in the direction you expect (or really, in any direction)—just like my struggle to coordinate a single glass of wine with friends this whole month, haha.
From (2), I can tell you that if you want to live your humanity fully, you must understand that you are composed of body, soul, and spirit. This means you’ll have animal desires, a mission that your soul longs for, and a connection with everything around you.
Under the Mayan worldview, each of us has “come down” to this earth to fulfill a mission. It is the task of your human life to discover it. The signs that you are fulfilling this mission will be seen as you witness your SACBE (your flowering path) unfolding, step by step. This is the path where flowers bloom as you walk, meaning you feel supported and accompanied as you move forward, slowly seeing the fruits of your efforts.
In Tantric cosmology, your desires form part of the most intense language your soul has to send messages for your own evolution. And every time you consciously transcend them, it’s inevitable that those around you will benefit. Because all of us, absolutely everyone, are connected.
When you see someone happy walking down the street, you immediately feel a little bit of joy. When you speak to someone who is at peace, you feel peaceful. When you see people working in something they’re passionate about, you feel inspired.
So what are you waiting for to follow that hidden truth? beyond what you think you should be doing or what you think you’re supposed to do or say
Why not speak and do what your heart is urging from within?
I’m not talking about cursing out someone you hate or making judgments about the system—I’m talking about your truth, that spark that you and I both know you try to keep hidden. Haha…
I wish you many solo wine moments and many more shared ones. I wish you cacao circles full of flowers, with song and dance, and a delicious, nourishing breakfast.
Sending you a big hug.
With love,✨
Sol Luciana
